Roo is a beautiful boy. Loves attention & is pretty good with other dogs. Can be an instigator, but will pull his horns in when reprimanded. He has been good with our younger puppies. Easy to work with on the grooming table. Light on the leash. Just a really nice boy that REALLY wants to be with his person. Roo has been an outside dog, so if you are wanting him inside, you most likely will have to have a belly band on him until he learns that he is not supposed to mark inside. Was exposed to small children before he was 12 weeks of age, but none since that time. Dog door trained. He is a shyer dog around strangers, so may take some time to come around. Once he bonds, he is a velcro boy. Roo is not a climber or a digger.

Roo does show some desire for herding, but I haven't had the time to do anything with that. I was taking him down to the barn earlier this winter when I was feeding grain to the calves, but had to quit that as he was really wanting to want to work the calves~ like a little cutting horse! So the desire is definitely there if you are wanting to go that direction. Athletic boy that wants to please you.

I am in the midst of doing a big restructuring & downsizing of my program ~ so I am evaluating everyone on a high rector scale. I had brought Roo in last year in hopes of him heading up our AKC/CKC MAS (Miniature American Shepherd) Program, but he did not mature as I was needing him to. Although his side/profile movement is beautiful, his coming movement is all over the place due to his right foot being a tad turned in & his elbow out. Movement is a huge thing for me & due to this, he has been neutered & is now being offered as a Pet. He truly is a lovely dog & will make someone super happy. I am just being EXTREMELY fussy as to who I am keeping back as a breeder for my program. My loss will be your gain as I spent a lot of money to bring this boy into Canada.....

As with every Adult/older Puppy that we place, it is HIGHLY suggested to have them on a leash for the first 2-3 months as although YOU know that they are now part of Your family, the Aussie does NOT know that. They believe that they are only visiting you & may try to find their way back home to us. It can take anywhere from 2 months- a year before they will finally realize that you are now their home/family. So please know that it will take some time & effort on your part to integrate him into your lifestyle.
